What you need to know

Online bookings: You must buy your ticket online at least 24 hours before the bus departs. Book here
Phone bookings: You must book by phone at least 1 hour before departure. Call 778-763-4155 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 available daily.

Arrive at your pick-up location 15 to 20 minutes before departure. Buses cannot wait for late passengers. If you miss your bus, you must book and pay for a new ticket.

Cancel at least 24 hours before departure to receive a full refund.
If BC Bus North cancels your trip, we will refund your reservation.
Please note that we do not issue refunds for missed trips or once the vehicle has departed your station.

BC Bus North does not currently offer connections or transfers to other bus services. Please book separate tickets if you are continuing your trip with another provider.

Passengers under 16 must travel with a parent/legal guardian, or with an adult who has written permission from a parent/legal guardian.

Certified guide and service dogs (under the Guide Dog and Service Dog Act) are allowed on board. To travel with a service animal, book by phone and tell the agent you are travelling with your service animal. Bring your Guide Animal Certificate. No other pets are permitted on board.

Food and drinks must be in closed, spill-proof containers. Alcohol may be transported only in the lower luggage compartment and must be securely packaged. Drinking alcohol on the bus is not permitted.

No. Wheelchair spaces are available on Rupert trips. You must reserve wheelchair accommodations by phone at 778 - 763 - 4155 at least 72 hours before departure.

Yes, but strollers must fold and fit in the lower luggage compartment.

Yes, if you are booking the Rupert route. The bike will go in the luggage bay.
For other trips, only bicycles packed in a bag or box and checked as luggage are allowed.

The Government of BC Bus Pass Program is not accepted as fare on BC Bus North routes.

You must have a reservation to ride. Do not try to flag the bus down between stops.

Standing is not permitted. Please remain seated while the bus is moving.

For delay or detour updates, call the call centre. If you provide a mobile number when booking, we can send delay/detour notifications when available.

Smoking is not allowed on the bus or within 6 metres (20 feet) of the bus, as required by the Tobacco Control Act. E-cigarettes/vapes are also not permitted on our buses.

Each passenger are free to bring up to 2 luggage (including carry-on)
Any luggage exceeding the limit will be charged additional $5.00 each.

Must be equivalent in size to an airline carry-on: no bigger than 51 cm x 23 cm x 40 cm (20” long x 9” wide x 16” high).
Must be able to be safely stowed either in the overhead compartment or under a seat.

Dimensions: Each piece must be no bigger than 61 cm x 114 cm x 61 cm (24” long x 45” wide x 24” high)
Weight: Each piece must not weigh more than 23 kg. (50 lb.)

Currently, only the Prince Rupert bus has a washroom.
Smaller vehicles used on same-day trips do not have a washroom (for example, Valemount to Prince George and Fort St. John to Fort Nelson).
Flex Pass vs Ticket : What’s the difference?
“Ticket”
What it is: A single-use pass for one specific trip.
How it works: When a passenger buys a ticket, they select their exact travel date, departure time, origin, and destination upfront. A seat is immediately held for them on that specific bus.
Best for: One-off travelers, tourists, or passengers with fixed, unchanging travel schedules.
“Flex Ticket”
What it is: A prepaid reservation that is valid for a year from date of purchase.
How it works: When a passenger buys a Flex Ticket, they don't pick their travel date right away. Instead, they get a Flex Ticket code that they can just show the driver anytime in which the route specified in the flex pass is scheduled. Learn more about our schedules here…
Best for: Passengers who need the flexibility to choose their exact trips at the last minute.
